With over three decades in the finance business – serving as Corporate Banker, Chief Financial Officer, Private Investor and Corporate Financial Advisor – Mr. Sheffield provides an extremely broad base of experience in the banking industry.

Since 1985, Mr. Sheffield has been the President and Founder of Sheffield Capital Advisors LLC. He has advised hundreds of company owners, corporate boards and senior executive officers in the areas of corporate finance, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other corporate exit strategies. He has developed an extensive working knowledge of the Capital Markets, Private Placements, Private Equity and Structured Finance, as well as a range of alternative bridge funding and recapitalization techniques.

Mr. Sheffield is also the President and Founder of FinQuest Partners LLC, a training firm specializing in serving the learning and development needs of corporate bankers. Mr. Sheffield’s financial institution clients include some of the largest global banks, as well as many regional banks all over the world. In addition, Mr. Sheffield has held a faculty position at New York University, Leonard N. Stern Graduate School of Business.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Sheffield served as the Chief Financial Officer for Craft World International Inc., a public company traded on NASDAQ. In this position, he designed and implemented a growth strategy using a public shell as a vehicle for acquisitions. Through a systematic program of acquisitions, divestitures and recapitalizations, Mr. Sheffield created a very profitable consumer products company, increasing the enterprise value of the company at a compound annual growth rate of over 40%.

Mr. Sheffield began his career by assisting in the founding of the investment banking group of Cyrus J. Lawrence, Incorporated – a well-known institutional brokerage house (which has since been acquired by Deutsche Bank).

Mr. Sheffield holds an M.S. degree in Management Science from Stanford University and a B.S. in Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Over the years, Mr. Sheffield has been an active investor in private companies and has served on the board of directors of these companies. Mr. Sheffield has also been very active in local community affairs, serving as a Trustee or Director on several not-for-profit organizations. He is married and has three children.
